Terms of Use
What this is
Fire EMS Countdown is a free, informational tool. It estimates how many continuing education (CE) hours you need to renew Ohio EMS and fire certificates. It's built only from published rules in Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 4765 and the state's public CE pages.
Not official
- Fire EMS Countdown is not affiliated with or endorsed by the State of Ohio, the Ohio Department of Public Safety, the Ohio Division of EMS, the State Board of Emergency Medical, Fire, and Transportation Services, or the Ohio State Fire Marshal.
- Results are estimates. If anything here differs from the Ohio Administrative Code or from official state records, the official source is right.
- Always verify your requirements and certificate status with the Ohio Division of EMS (ems.ohio.gov), which certifies Ohio EMS and fire personnel. For fire code questions, check with the Ohio State Fire Marshal. Your fire chief or program director can also help.
- Rules change. We try to keep up, but there may be a delay. The rules version is shown under "How this works."
- This is not legal advice.
Your responsibility
- You're responsible for renewing your certificates on time, meeting every requirement, and keeping your CE records.
- The results are only as good as the dates and hours you enter.
